Man implicated in Waukesha gas station robbery was newly released from prison

On Friday, Waukesha police detectives gained information leading them to the suspect in the armed robbery at the Citgo gas on Grand Ave. and Williams St. station the day before. An attempt to locate was put out to all officers and the 21-year-old Waukesha man was picked up by patrol officers at Delafield St. as he was walking down the street.
The suspect was released from prison on Aug. 25 after serving two years for stealing a car.
He was on parole, unemployed and wearing a Department of Corrections leg bracelet at the time of the crime.
At , 11:45 a.m. Thursday, the Citgo was robbed by a man with a handgun.
He is currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail on a parole hold with robbery charges being referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
Also on Friday, Waukesha police detectives developed information that led them to a suspect in the strong-armed robbery in the 900 block of W. St. Paul Ave.
The 18-year-old suspect from Waukesha is not connected with the other robberies.
He was taken into custody after attempting to steal the tip-jar at (New China Express) 310 W. St. Paul Ave.
He was chased by the owner and later arrested by a patrol officer who found him hiding in bushes. He then admitted his involvement in the robbery in the 900 block of W. St. Paul Ave.
He is being held for the strong armed robbery and attempted theft from New China Express at the Waukesha County Jail.
“We are still looking for the suspect in the robbery in Frame Park as we do not believe that robbery is connected to the others,” Stigler said.
The robbery on Wednesday in Frame Park has yet to be cleared.
At 9:48 p.m., officers were flagged down near the State Office Building by a victim who stated he was robbed at gun point inside the park by a white male who engaged him in conversation, then pulled a silver handgun and demanded money.
No vehicle was seen. The suspect is described as being about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, thin build, clean shaven and wearing a knit cap with strings on the side and leather on top of cap, a white sweatshirt.
