Firefighters from the newly opened station five found heavy smoke and fire visible. The  structure, a  vacant two-story wood frame dwelling, had been a farmhouse.

The roof was completely involved and collapsing as units arrived on scene.

They found fire had spread to the garage, house and roof.  Crews were sent inside the structure to extinguish any remaining fire.
